The number of people accessing our sexual exploitation support has stretched services to the limit.

We urgently need to raise funds to help more young victims of child sexual exploitation.

We are struggling to reach all the children who need us, and we need more trained workers so we can make sure more children receive the specialist help they need to recover and escape from the vile cruelty they are suffering.

  • £25 could pay for a survival kit that contains toiletries, towels, pyjamas and a diary that can help them get through the first few difficult days.

  • £50 could help provide specialist child support for an exploited child. This could be the vital first step on their road to recovery.

  • Support Sessions

£150 could provide safe emergency accommodation and breakfast for three children who have been rescued from exploitation.

£25 could pay for a survival kit that also contains a diary to give them a place to record their feelings and begin to work through their trauma.

All gifts towards our £519,295 target will go directly towards our child sexual exploitation (CSE) support services to help children who desperately need us

Some abusers are targeting children online, ‘befriending’ them and persuading them to meet face to face. All too often the children are given drugs and alcohol and driven to unknown locations where they are raped by a gang.

That anyone could abuse a child in such a horrific way appals us at the deepest level. And yet tragically, we hear stories like this every day.

    Find out how Barnardo's helps

As hard as it might be to imagine a child ever recovering from such horrific abuse, our expert staff can help the children move forward with their lives – because even in the darkest days of a child’s life, we never give up on them.

Once we are sure a child is safe from their abusers, we introduce exercises to help them open up about the parts of their life that made them unhappy and vulnerable to grooming.

Trust grows over time and we help them find ways to cope with the trauma of what they experienced and help them to look forwards and what they want out of life.
