An introduction to Protecting Children
This course can be tailored to your needs. We have delivered to medical students, education staff (including pre-five) and NHS staff as well as voluntary organisations working with homeless people. This is a foundation level course, meeting many of the learning outcomes defined in the Child Protection Reform Programme’s training framework (level 2).
Managing Staff, Protecting Children
This course is tailored to the contextual issues you are challenged by. For Child Care Forum managers (of nurseries, after-school care) we constructed a day examining the dilemmas and challenges around Confidentiality, Culture and Co-operation. This included an examination of the impact of differing cultural beliefs and the operationalisation of child protection procedures; the tension between confidentiality and information sharing agendas and the skills associated with joint working.
Staff Supervision in Social Care
This five day course, based on the Supervision Manual written by Tony Morrison, is suitable for all supervisors in health and social care settings, particularly where their role combines line management and practice/clinical supervision. It is particularly focussed on the issues of the management of anxiety in complex work and on achieving collaborative environments in multiprofessional work. It is based on the premise that good supervision has a direct impact on outcomes for service users. This course has been enthusiastically received by teachers, health staff and social work managers in both public and voluntary sectors. We have also adapted it for staff responsible for the management of volunteers.
We are willing to tailor this course to your requirements. We are also able to provide courses for supervisees on making good use of supervision and consultation on supervision policies and systems.
Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
