What works in…Therapeutic Play

One day course

Aim

  • To develop insight into child development and attachment in order to facilitate engaging play opportunities that build on emotion regulation and social skills.
  • To enhance play skills that facilitates healthy relationships between children and carers.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • build on personal and professional practices, utilising creative and developmental processes
  • develop a practical tool box, flexible enough for a diverse range of needs and abilities
  • to increase appropriate responses to the diverse range of needs and abilities presented to workers
  • to acknowledge the potential emotional impact upon workers, in order to support personal and practical effectiveness
  • link theory to practice based evidence for improved outcomes
  • utilise a frame work for reflective learning and continuing professional practice development
