Aim
- To develop staff’s skills and confidence to work with challenging behaviours in effective, safe and restorative ways.
- To build on awareness of misuse of power and influence, in order to affect change.
- To reflect on personal and professional responses to bullying and confrontation and develop strategies that keeps service users and staff safe.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session participants will be able to:~
- demonstrate a greater understanding of the different responses to fear, anger and intimidation, and how to support repair work
- apply skills – that can be utilised through Care Plans, which increase service users’ emotional intelligence and life skills
- demonstrate and apply appropriate techniques of responding successfully
- utilise a frame work for reflective learning and continuing professional development.
