What works in…Positive Behaviour and Conflict Management

Aim

  • To develop staff’s skills and confidence to work with challenging behaviours in effective, safe and restorative ways.  
  • To reflect on personal and professional responses to confrontation and develop strategies that keeps service users and staff safe.  
  • To develop skills – that can be utilised through Care Planning, which increase service users’ emotional intelligence and life skills.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session participants will be able to;

  • demonstrate an understanding of the different responses to stress, and how to work with these
  • apply strategies to increase stress tolerance levels, that enable safety and positive relationships to be maintained
  • demonstrate and apply appropriate techniques of responding successfully
  • utilise a frame work for reflective learning and continuing professional development.
