One day course
The programme offers managers and practitioners a practical way of working with children, young people and families. The approach is designed to draw out user’s strengths, which enhances empowerment and collaborative practice.
Aim
To develop an understanding of the theoretical and practical issues and practical techniques of solution focused practice which will enable participants to practice and develop their skills in empowerment and collaborative practice.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- describe the underlying principles of solution focused practice
- demonstrate the main skills of solution focused practice
- identify where the main skills associated with solution focused practice can be incorporated in their day to day work practices
- explore their experience of using solution focused practice techniques to improve qualitative work practices on the front line
- identify an action plan to consolidate their use of solution focused practice within their area of work
- utilise a frame work for reflective learning and continuing professional development.
