Our training events, consultancy projects and conferences are delivered by highly qualified trainers with experience in learning and development. Some of our trainer and consultant profiles are shown below.
Tim Carter has a background in community development and social work in both statutory and voluntary settings for the past 22 years. During the last five years he has worked for Barnardo’s bringing a passion for developing quality family orientated approaches in working with some of the most excluded children and young people. Tim heads up TLC as well as new development initiatives within the region.
Julie Dugdale, an Assistant Director in Children’s Services Barnardo’s North West and Manager of tlc in the North West, has a lead strategic role for maximising the engagement of the Voluntary and Community sector in the Every Child Matters agenda on behalf of GONW. She has wide experience in developing safeguarding strategies, including consultancy for local authorities, business planning for LSCB and development of training strategies for workforce development.
Ruth Watson (Children's Services Manager) qualified as a teacher in 1978 and then as a Social Worker in 1983. She has spent much of her social work career working with children with disabilities and their families both as a Social Worker in Education and for Barnard'os. She is also a Practice Teacher for social work students. Ruth’s particular areas of training expertise are around Disability Awareness, Child Protection, Child Protection and Disability, including teaching Safety Skills to children and young people with disabilities.
