Barnardo’s Threshold Service
Barnardo’s Threshold Service provides a range of housing support services to vulnerable young people aged 16-25 who are living in their own tenancies or preparing to move to a tenancy within the Inverclyde area.
Working in partnership with Inverclyde Council, Homelessness Service and Social Work Throughcare Service we identify appropriate tenancies which meet the needs of the young people and provide practical assistance in maintaining the tenancy. We also offer the following support.
- Offer benefits advice and support accessing benefits.
- Link young people into education, training and employment.
- Support and offer practical advice to young parents.
- Assist young people to access leisure and recreational facilities.
- Support and assist young people to access appropriate health care.
- Provide the above in a flexible and non-threatening manner in order to meet the individual needs of the young people.
- Provide links to many local services in order to address individual needs.
