1. Do I have to pay anything to use the service?

No Take Note is totally free and remember you can access the service wherever you live in Scotland.

2. I don’t know if I have the right to make a reference to the Additional Support Needs Tribunal for Scotland (ASNTS) – how can I find out?

You could phone Enquire which is the Scottish advice service for additional support needs – they have lots of practice advice to help you find your way through the education and additional support needs system including information on your rights.

3. What is advocacy?

Advocacy is about helping you have your voice heard in decision making processes.

4. What is an advocate?

An advocate is someone who will listen to your views to find out what you think about things. They will make you aware of your rights and support you in telling other people what you think. They will help you identify who you need to speak to and how you are going to do this.

5. Where will I meet with my advocate?

Your advocate will get in touch by telephone to arrange a place to meet which will always be somewhere that is convenient for you.

6. How long can I use the service?

Your advocate will continue to work with you until an informal resolution has been found that you are happy with, the ASNTS process is complete, or you feel you no longer need or want to use the service.
