Supported lodgings is an awesome facility and it has helped me much more than I thought it could.  The staff and lodging providers are friendly and helpful and it is thanks to them that I am where I am now.

Being in supported lodgings has helped me a lot.  I have people I can go to for information. I’ve learnt how to make a cooked breakfast, budget my money and how to save energy for when I live on my own and have to pay utility bills. I'm much happier than I was in foster care.  Being in supported lodgings has allowed me to return to Swansea and now I see my family and friends more often.  I’m able to make my own decisions but I have guidance if I need it.  I would definitely recommend supported lodgings to other young people.

Barnardo's Supported Lodgings providers

Being a supported lodgings provider can be difficult at times but it is worth it when you see a young person succeed. The good times always outweigh the bad.

Each young person is different and responds to supported lodgings in different ways.  It gives them the opportunity to move on to independence successfully.

I enjoy being a supported lodgings provider. It's great to help a young person and give them a second chance. Supported lodgings gives young people encouragement to develop their independent living skills, encouragement which they might not otherwise receive.
