Barnardo's Sunrise Children’s Centre is a new purpose-built centre for disabled children,young people and their families. It was officially opened by Dame Kelly Holmes on October 23 2006 and shares its site with Barnardo’s Meadows School. The facilities offered are:

  • a large multi-purpose room

  • meeting rooms
  • sensory garden and outside play area.

The Sunrise Children’s Centre focuses on meeting the needs of children and young people with disabilities in the heart of the local community. We aim to be flexible and respond to local needs.

The centre is a joint project with Kent County Council, which owns the building and manages the six-bedded respite service. Barnardo’s manages the resource centre. The centre is kindly supported by Wooden Spoon.
