
Sunrise Children’s Centre is a purpose-built centre for disabled children, young people and their families. It was officially opened by Dame Kelly Holmes on 23 October 2006 and shares its site with Barnardo’s Meadows School.
The facilities offered are:
- soft play room
- sensory room
- computer room
- independent skills training kitchen
- a large multi-purpose room
- jacuzzi
- meeting rooms
- sensory garden and outside play area.
The Sunrise Children’s Centre focuses on meeting the needs of disabled children and young people in the heart of the local community. We aim to be flexible and respond to local needs.
Sunrise Children's Centre is a Kent County Council service operated in partnership with Barnardo's. A Kent County Council team runs "The Den," an overnight six-bedded short breaks service. Barnardo's has been commissioned to operate term-time clubs and holiday playschemes.
