Sunrise Children's Centre

Barnardo's Sunrise Children’s Centre is a purpose-built centre for disabled children,young people and their families. It was officially opened by Dame Kelly Holmes on 23 October 2006 and shares its site with Barnardo’s Meadows School. The facilities offered are:

  • soft play room
  • sensory room
  • computer room
  • independent skills training kitchen
  • a large multi-purpose room
  • jacuzzi
  • meeting rooms
  • sensory garden and outside play area.

The Sunrise Children’s Centre focuses on meeting the needs of children and young people with disabilities in the heart of the local community. We aim to be flexible and respond to local needs.

The centre is a joint project with Kent County Council, which owns the building and manages the six-bedded overnight short break service. Barnardo’s manages the resource centre.
