Mission and aims

Spring Hill School provides an education and care service for young people who have a wide range of learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
We are an inclusive school whose mission is to equip young people with the skills, knowledge and experiences which will help them to accomplish their ambitions as adults. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all young people while fostering an environment which stimulates, supports and challenges them to achieve their potential.
Our aims are:
- to create a caring environment where all are treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, religion, gender, culture, disability or sexuality
- to recognise and reward achievement and progress, encouraging each student to reach their full potential while being sensitive to the needs of others
- to develop relationships based on honesty and responsibility to help young people develop a sense of self worth and self respect and a capacity to live as motivated adults who have an ability to work and co-operate with others
- to set clear behavioural expectations and provide a system of support and care which judges behaviour and not the individual to ensure participation in decision making from all members of the school community
- to ensure the use of quality resources and strategies and to ensure that resources are managed effectively and efficiently.
Spring Hill school is both a good school for education and care. Ofsted report 2009
