Frequently asked questions

Q. What geographical area do you work in?

A. Currently we only work in Ryde, but we are planning to develop our service over the next few years to include other areas of the Isle of Wight.

Q. How much do your activities cost?

A. Most of our activities are free, except for outings. We try and keep costs down, and seek grants for this purpose.

Q. How do I find out about your activities?

A. The best way is to give us a ring or email us.

Q. Do my children have to register with you?

A. Yes. We keep details of your child on our computer system, with your consent of course. Form-filling is kept to a minimum though.

Q. Are your staff trained and police checked?

A. All our staff and volunteers have appropriate qualifications (i.e. in youth work, food handling, and child protection) and are police checked.

Q. I would love to volunteer my time. What is expected of me? Will I have to pay my own expenses?

A. You will have to complete a police check, and references will be required. We prefer people who have had previous experience of working with young people, but we do provide training and support if this is not the case. We also pay expenses – like bus fares etc.
