Spring Hill School is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Ripon on the edge of the North Yorkshire Dales. It is a non-maintained residential special school run by Barnardo’s, the children’s charity. The school accepts male and female pupils between the ages of 9 – 19 years old, and can enroll 37 pupils at any one time. Spring Hill caters for pupils with special educational needs, in particular for those pupils with challenging behaviour.
The school provides a friendly and nurturing environment where young people can realise their potential in a safe and secure setting. We have high expectations for our pupils and believe in equal access to all areas of school life, tailoring our methods to suit individual needs.
Spring Hill prides itself on excellent interpersonal relationships between staff and pupils that foster mutual trust and respect. Spring Hill aims to be a caring school that enhances the quality of pupils’ life and learning. Pupils are involved in drawing up their own Behaviour Management Plan and in reviewing their academic progress regularly.
