Parents or carers

In 2006, the OFSTED report praised the school for involving parents and pupils in important decisions. We like to involve parents in their child’s education as much as possible, even though our pupils come from all over the country and their families and carers do not live close by the school.

One parent said ‘all staff are wonderfully caring and committed. My opinion of them is 10/10 with a star as well’.

The staff are in weekly contact with the pupils’ parents or carers, who are free to contact the school at any time with concerns they may have or just for an update on their child’s progress. They are also welcome to ring us and arrange a visit to the School. Parents are invited to special end of term events, including the Christmas concert, prize giving and sports day.

Chinese New Year Batik

Each pupil has an annual review meeting to discuss their progress which we encourage parents or carers to attend. If we have any matters to discuss during the course of the year, we will get in touch with you.

52 week placements are available for children or young people who require full-time provision. There are also places in the school for day pupils who do not live at Spring Hill and continue to live at home.

We manage pupil absconding by assessing the risk for each individual and taking preventative measures.
