School community

We have a culture of open and honest communication between all members of the school community. Pupils, staff, parents, carers and governors work together in Spring Hill to ensure that we provide the very best care and education possible.

In partnership – students
The Student Council meets each month and is an important forum for consulting students about proposed changes in the school. The Student Council also initiates new ideas, such as the recent addition of new outdoor play equipment.

In partnership – staff
All teaching, residential and ancillary staff at Spring Hill are dedicated to providing high quality education, care and emotional support. All staff receive regular training to help them in their jobs and inspectors found that relations between staff and pupils were excellent.

'The school takes good care of all students, who in turn trust staff and know who to approach if they need help. There is very good support for them when they are troubled or upset.' Ofsted report, 2006

In partnership – parents or carers
We welcome support from parents or carers and keep them updated on their child’s progress at Spring Hill.

In partnership – governors
The Governors are an important part of the school community. They give the young people and the school great support and run committees that look at specific questions, such as personnel.
