The girls’ residence is located in Southborough and one of the boys’ residences is located in Tunbridge Wells; the other two residences are located on campus.

Residential pupils beginning at Meadows are placed in a residential unit and hopefully, will remain there for the whole of their time at the school. All residential pupils have the opportunity to have single bedrooms, all of which are attractively furnished and well maintained.

Disability and accessibility
The school was designed to enable access to non-ambulant persons. Although the design of the residential units makes access problematic, any rebuilding and development work takes into consideration relevant legislation to improve accessibility for all.

Security arrangements at the school
Meadows School is not situated in what might be considered a high risk area. Good practice however demands that all visitors report to the main office to ‘sign in’, where they will be issued with a visitor’s badge. Non-staff adults walking within the school will be challenged by staff. Visitors to the residential units must sign the visitors’ book.

The school has extensive CCTV coverage which is managed by 2 staff during the evenings when pupils are in residence. When any Meadows building is empty it is alarmed and monitored remotely by members of staff available for security support. Fire practices are undertaken to ensure positive response from pupils and alarms are checked weekly.
