Policies

High Close has a number of policies for the safety and wellbeing of our pupils.

Our behaviour policy promotes positive behaviour and change to difficult behaviour through the supportive environment of the school and the school community working together for the benefit of all pupils. Read more here.

Our anti-bullying policy is very clear about the dangers of bullying and of our intolerance of bullying in the school. Read more here.

The child protection policy we implement is built on the child protection policies of the local authorities of our various pupils and the child protection policy of Barnardo's. Find out more here.

'The school makes very good provision for pupils’ care, welfare, health and safety. Child protection procedures are thorough.' Ofsted report, 2005

The special needs policy is unique to each pupil attending High Close; everyone has a special education needs policy which identifies their needs and how the school will promote their development according to their needs. Some pupils have an additional learning needs policy which identifies learning needs appropriate to any learning difficulty they may have. Find out more here.

High Close is monitored by Ofsted and CSCI, both bodies for regulating education and care of pupils with behaviour and learning difficulties. Read more and view their reports on High Close here.
