Sexual abuse of children destroys lives and families. Barnardo's Safe and Sound Appeal will help us ensure the future of our vital services in Birmingham that help children overcome the devastating consequences of sexual abuse.

Barnardo’s works across the region to identify children at risk of being abused, to help keep them safe. Unfortunately, for over 300 children living in the greater Birmingham area, we are unable to reach them before the abuse has taken place. For these children, we may be the only specialist service who can help them overcome their devastating experiences.  

Many have had their trust abused by a family member or 'friend', while others have been coerced into sexual activity in return for shelter or food. Without our help, most of these children would be drawn into damaging relationships throughout adulthood, and some, overwhelmed by their guilt and shame and anger, would take their own lives.

These children need Barnardo’s to help them face their future with hope, and right now, Barnardo’s needs you to help raise £750,000. Every penny raised will directly secure the future of this service and keep more children in Birmingham safe and sound.
