How we can help

Adoptees - those who have been adopted may wish to find out about their adoption or trace birth relatives.
We can help by
- providing an opportunity to talk about your adoption with a project worker
- helping to locate background information on your adoption
- assisting in searching for a birth relative
- providing a sensitive intermediary service if contact with a birth relative is desired
- supporting a reunion and providing a support group where you can meet and talk with other adopted people
Birth parents and relatives – those who have been separated from children placed for adoption may grieve for many years.
We can help by
- providing an opportunity to talk about your experience with a project worker in an understanding environment
- we may be able to provide some information from adoption records
- it may be possible to search and make contact with the adopted person
- support in contact and reunion can be offered
- we run a birth mothers’ group which provides an opportunity to talk about your experience with others
Adoptive parents – adoptive parents and children can face many challenges. There may be difficult background information. Issues from the past may lead to difficulties. Contact with birth family members may present challenges.
