Scottish Adoption Advice Service

The Barnardo's Scottish Adoption Advice Service (SAAS) is a post-adoption service offering advice, support and counselling to everyone affected by adoption. SAAS has been in existence since 1978 and is staffed by experienced adoption workers. We are based in the West of Scotland and funded by Barnardo’s and several local authorities.

We offer a confidential service recognising the lifelong implications for all involved, including:

• adoptees
• birth parents and relatives
• prospective adopters

Our service is also used by people who have been 'in care', step parents enquiring about adoption and professionals working with adoption.
