Year 7 poster competition

Create your own poster for Barnardo's and send it to us. We will choose the best one amongst all the schools participating across the country.

The winning poster will be uploaded on to our Barnardo’s website along with a photograph of the winning pupils.

How to enter

  • follow Lesson 4 and use the media skills you have learned to make your own poster for Barnardo's.
  • choose the best poster from each Year 7 class.
  • scan in or send in a PDF format to schoolfundraising@barnardos.org.uk
  • don’t forget to include the School name, address, class and names of the pupil/s who created each poster in the email
  • this is an annual competition and the closing date for the competition is 1 May each year. Posters which arrive after this date will be considered for the following year.

Terms and conditions

  • We will contact the winners and ask them to send us a photograph of themselves which will be placed along side their winning poster on Barnardo’s website: www.barnardos.org.uk/competition_winner
  • The winning poster will be chosen by a panel of judges selected by Barnardo’s. The judges’ decision is final.
  • To enter the competition the child must be a year 7 student and we may ask for evidence of this.
  • To have their photo uploaded onto the website the winners must have permission from a parent/guardian. We will send the winner a consent form to be filled in, signed and sent back to Barnardo’s.
  • We do not accept any responsibility for any delay or failure in receiving any communication with regards to the winner. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations and all liability relating to the competition and any rewards.
  • The winning poster may be used for future Barnardo’s publications.
  • By taking part in this competition, you agree that any and all intellectual property rights subsisting in the drawing shall be owned by Barnardo’s. You shall execute any documents reasonably required by Barnardo’s to ensure the transfer of such rights.  
  • By submitting your entry, you confirm you are happy for us to reproduce the poster alongside the child/ children’s name/s, year group, age and school on the Barnardo’s website and in our marketing materials.
  • The entry must be accompanied by the details aforementioned. Any entries not accompanied with this information will not be entered into the competition. By submitting your entry, you confirm that you are happy for us to hold and process your and your pupils’ details for the purposes of the administration and the competition.
  • Please note that we are unable to return any entries.
  • We may disqualify your entry if we reasonably believe you are in breach of these rules, or have acted in any way which harms or is likely to harm Barnardo’s reputation.
  • We may cancel or make reasonable amendments to the competition for reasons outside of our reasonable control. We may amend these rules without notice by posting them our Barnardo’s website.
  • The winners may be required to take part in any publicity accompanying or resulting from this competition.
  • These rules are governed by the laws of England. This competition is promoted by Barnardo’s, Tanners Lane, Barkingside, Ilford, Essex, IG6 1QG, registered charity numbers 216250 and SC037605.
