Services available from the Barnardo’s Library
Requests for information
The Barnardo’s Library team are experienced in responding to requests received by telephone, fax, post and e-mail. We also welcome visitors who may wish to discuss their needs with a team member or simply browse the collection.
BarnInfo
BarnInfo (.pdf 140kb) is a monthly listing of new acquisitions and recently published journal articles. Each issue contains up to 100 fully abstracted references and provides a comprehensive guide to new publications and articles on relevant topics. If you would like to receive BarnInfo by email please contact the library.
Customised reading lists
Customised reading lists can be prepared on any subject within Barnardo’s range of interests, at a cost of £5 each.
Affiliated Organisations
Organisations may apply for affiliated status with the Barnardo’s Library, which permits them to borrow from its collection. No charge is made for affiliation but loans are hired out at a cost of £5 per item. Subject to copyright restrictions the Library will also provide photocopies of articles in its collection at a cost of £3 per article. This is a service with potential benefits to very small organisations that would otherwise not be able to afford to maintain a library or information service.
