The Evidence Guide workshops

Want to help your team become more evidence based?

Help develop your team’s ability to locate, assess, adapt and act on research evidence and improve outcomes for service users.

The Evidence Guide is a training and learning resource designed with social care practitioners in mind. It describes the main components of research informed practice – from outlining the need for and benefits to be gained from this approach, through to the practical considerations of implementation.

The Evidence Guide is made up of five modules designed to be used individually and flexibly to suit individual training and learning needs. You select the modules of most relevance to your staff and we provide the training expertise.

What are the five modules?

  • Module 1 Using Research Evidence in Practice: An introduction
Are you looking to make better use of research but aren’t quite sure where to start?
  • Module 2 Locating Research Evidence in Five Steps
Want to find the research evidence you need? Are you looking in the right places?
  • Module 3 Appraising and Reviewing Research Evidence
Would you like to better understand research and to appraise its quality and relevance?
  • Module 4 Adapting and Applying Evidence: Issues for individual practitioners and organisations
Want to improve your organisation’s capacity and capability to evaluate and act upon research findings?
  • Module 5 Outcome-Focused Evaluation
Would you like to evaluate your practice and outcomes for users effectively?

Each module generally requires a minimum of one full day’s training input. We can also devise tailored training packages.
