What we do

We are registered for 50 full-time nursery places, meaning we can have up to 50 children in the nursery at any one time, and we currently have in the region of 90 children attending our nursery over a variety of sessions.

We can provide both full and part-time care, our sessions are:

  • full-time: (8am - 6pm)
  • school day: (8:00am - 3:00pm) over 3 years only
  • morning: (8am - 1pm)
  • afternoon: (1pm - 6pm).

We have three separate rooms to cater for different age and ability groups:

Sunflowers

Sunflowers is the nursery room specially designed to accommodate our 0 - 2 year olds, and provides a caring, nurturing environment. We are registered with OFSTED to take care of up to 6 children in this age group at any one time on a minimum child to adult ratio of 3:1. We have a separate sleep room as well as a room to change the babies and a milk kitchen.

Ladybirds

This is a large and colourful room specifically for 2 - 3 year olds, giving lots of opportunities for creative play. The children in this room are taken care of on a minimum child to adult ratio of 4:1.

Rainbows

This is our pre-school room to accommodate children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. It is a friendly and stimulating environment, allowing the children to develop their skills through creative learning and the foundation stage curricula. The minimum child to adult ratio in this room is 8:1.

We have large outdoor play areas for each age group with a wide range of toys and equipment for the children's use.

We are committed to providing a service which is open to all children. One of our nursery officers is qualified to act as special educational needs co-ordinator for the nursery. We are therefore able to care for children with a wide range of needs. The officer has had a lot of experience with young children with educational, behavioural, emotional and physical needs, and has strong links with the local Springboard opportunity playgroup.

We have also recently employed an early years teacher to work with the children. She will be working mostly with the pre-school children but also across the whole nursery, introducing new ideas and implementing the early years foundation stage.
