Barnardo’s REACH Service
Barnardo's REACH service, initially known as Salford Families , was started by Barnardo's in 1978 and, since 1996, the service has had a successful partnership with Salford Local Authority Children's Social Care. This has enabled us to reach and support a significant number of disabled children and young people across the city of Salford.
disabled children/young people and children/young people with additional needs have a right to be included and to actively participate in everyday life.
What do we do?
We assist disabled children and young people, aged 0 - 18 years, to play and have fun together in a range of mainstream social, leisure and recreational activities e.g.AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS, play & learn in Children Centres, sports, youth groups, drama, cinema, theatre, concerts, creative arts, environmental groups and shopping with friends.
Children/young people can join existing groups or have new opportunities within their own or new friendship groups. The service is offered : after school, evenings, weekends and school holidays.
The cost will depend on the activity chosen.
We welcome siblings to join in all activities.
