Barnardo's Neville Street Service

Picture of girl

We are situated in central Cardiff and provides a range of services for vulnerable and disadvantaged children and families from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities.

The overarching aim of all the services offered is to improve the life chances of children and families in the locality, who experience discrimination and who are excluded or at the margins of society.

The project works to empower children and their families to participate fully in local service provision and community activities, to challenge inequalities and discrimination, and to achieve their rights.

Neville Street Service's work is underpinned by the following values and aims:

  • an open and collaborative project culture that values the contributions and perspectives of all individuals
  • the provision of focused services to meet the needs of BME children and their families within a welcoming and safe environment
  • working in partnership with mainstream community providers to develop inclusive services which are culturally sensitive and offer equality of access to all children and families within the locality
  • campaigning and the dissemination of good practice to promote the rights and entitlements of BME children.

We will always listen sensitively to what children and families tell us.
