Rosamund Pike
Actress and Barnardo’s Ambassador Rosamund Pike supports the charity whenever her busy schedule allows. She does this through attending fundraising events, donating auction prizes and promoting Barnardo’s and its childcare work in the media. Rosamund also visits projects to see some of the charity’s work at first hand.
A visit to Southampton gave Rosamund the opportunity to visit two Barnardo’s projects. At Southampton Children’s Rights she met ex-service users who are now employed by the project. This ensures the rights and needs of ‘looked after’ children are integral when planning and delivering services that affect them. It also aims to resolve any problems.
Southampton U-Turn’s centre gave Rosamund an insight into its work with young people who are at risk of being abused through sexual exploitation. The project had been renamed following the expansion of its work to support vulnerable young men as well as women. You can see Rosamund talk about her visit in these videos.
