London Hughes joins judging panel on “High Close has got Talent”

Presenter and comedian London Hughes visited Barnardo's High Close School when she joined the judging panel at the school's annual talent show.

The event, now in its tenth year, took place on Friday 12th  February. The show included a variety of acts including a school band, solo singers and a dance act. Children also formed part of the stage crew who helped make sure the show ran smoothly for the whole school to enjoy.

London presented the morning show for CBBC for two years, and now presents ITV’s weekend morning show Scrambled!. As well as being a comedian and presenter, London is also writer and actress, with a background in dance and taking part in talent contests herself, so was able to offer some very valuable comments and advice to contestants.

London said:

“I was hugely impressed by all the contestants, the pupils at High Close are real stars! They are a talented group of young people who clearly worked very hard on their acts. The show is a brilliant way for them to showcase their talents and build up their confidence in a really fun way. It was great to see how Barnardo’s supports pupils of all abilities in all they do. I had a fantastic day!”

Barnardo’s High Close School is a mixed residential and day school in Wokingham, for children have a range of special educational needs and aims to offer the very best to pupils in order they can achieve to the highest of their ability.
