Release date: 18 Aug 2015

Barnardo’s Big Comedy Benefit took place on 18 August at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, for another great evening of belly-aching laughs in the name of charity

Comedy Fringe 2

The line-up for the evening included  Irish comedian and Edinburgh veteran Jason Byrne, who is known for having the fastest selling show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013 and 2014; Joe Lycett, who has appeared on TV shows such as Live at the Apollo, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 out of 10 Cats,  and whose 2012 debut stand-up show Some Lycett Hot was nominated for the Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards; Paul Foot, who celebrated his 10th year performing at The Edinburgh Fringe; and Iain Stirling, Scottish comedian and BAFTA nominated presenter.

Also returning to support our show was Patrick Monahan, an Irish-Iranian comedian best known for performing ten times at the Edinburgh Festival including five solo shows; Scotland’s very own Fred MacAulay, returning for the 27th time at The Edinburgh Fringe; and our host for the evening the Award-winning comedian Jo Caulfield.

The show was a huge success, raising around £5,000 for our vital work to support children and young people across the UK.
