From a Mother to Another: Calling YOU

Release Date: 03 Feb 2015

We’ve teamed up with leading brand JoJo Maman Bebe and environmental c harity Hubbub to ask mothers to give outgrown children’s clothes to help other mums.

We’re asking you to hand in good-quality baby and children’s clothing to JoJo Maman Bébé’s boutique shops across the UK. The clothes will be beautifully gift-wrapped and re-distributed through our services to a family in need, as a gift ‘From a Mother to Another.’

The average British family spends £11,000 on clothing for a child growing up. Nearly a third of this ends up in landfill– wasting over £3,500.

So we’re asking mothers who no longer need these clothes to give them to mothers who do. There’s often a lot of life left in the clothing; the fabric is not yet worn and garments tend to look nearly new.

Handing on clothes helps parents whose incomes struggle to keep up with their growing kids. It also helps to reduce textile waste.

“From a Mother to Another” was launched today at London’s Somerset House. The opportunity to give clothes to another mother will last from now until Mother’s Day on 15 March. You can keep up with how things are going by following: #MotherToAnother.
