Barnardo’s chosen by FTSE 100 company to be new charity partner

Release Date: 19 Apr 2017

Barnardo’s, the UK’s largest and oldest children’s charity, has been chosen as the charity partner of Land Securities, the UK’s largest commercial property company.

The three-year partnership follows a vote by staff at the FTSE 100 firm. Land Securities hopes to raise a significant amount of money for the charity, which will be used to help some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.

This week (17th – 23rd April) fundraising events are taking place in Land Securities’ offices and retail sites across the UK, with staff ‘Going Green for Barnardo’s’ to raise money for the charity.

Barnardo’s Chief Executive, Javed Khan, said:

“We are delighted to have been chosen to be Land Securities national charity partner. The money raised from this partnership will help some of the most vulnerable children in the country, including those who are leaving care, have been sexually exploited and who look after a disabled family member.

“At Barnardo’s we are determined to help every child who needs our help get the support they need so they can fulfil their potential and thrive.”

Land Securities Chief Executive, Robert Noel, said:

“We are delighted that our employees have chosen Barnardo’s to be our national charity partner. It is a real privilege for us to be able to work with an organisation that makes such an important and meaningful difference to the lives of children across the UK. We are very much looking forward to a long and productive partnership.”

Last year Barnardo’s supported 248,000 children and young people through more than 996 services across the UK.
