Amir Khan fronts Barnardo’s advertising campaign

Release Date: 01 Jun 2017

Amir Khan, the former world champion boxer and Barnardo’s ambassador, is fronting a new TV advertising campaign during Ramadan to raise vital funds for the UK’s largest children’s charity.

The advert, which shows Amir Khan teaching a young person to box, asks for people to donate £5 to help the most vulnerable children in the country to become champions.

The 30 second advert will air on several Muslim TV channels throughout the month of Ramadan.

Barnardo’s ambassador, Amir Khan, said:

I am delighted to be fronting Barnardo’s new advertising campaign. I have seen first-hand the incredible work the charity does and know how important it is for children and young people to get the help and support they so desperately need and deserve.

Barnardo’s Chief Executive, Javed Khan, said:

Amir Khan is a great ambassador for Barnardo’s and I’m thrilled he is helping with this advertising campaign.

Thank you in advance to everyone who donates to Barnardo’s during Ramadan. Your generosity means we can continue to help the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.

The Muslim Charities Forum has estimated that British Muslims gave around £100 million to charitable causes during the month of Ramadan in 2016.

As well as the advert featuring Amir Khan, an adapted version of Barnardo’s ‘Believe in Me’ campaign advert is being broadcast.
