I left Nonnington College of Physical Education in 1981 with a B.Ed (Hons) in Movement Studies and Education and Biology.

I then began teaching in Dover at a day special school. I moved to Manchester in 1983 to a position at a residential special school. Whilst in Manchester I obtained a Diploma in Special Educational Needs and an Advanced Diploma in Education Management from Manchester Polytechnic.

I then took a post at Meadows in 1991 as a Deputy Principal until 1996 when I was appointed Head Teacher of a residential special school managed by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Whilst working for Tower Hamlets I gained a Masters Degree in Education Management with the Open University.

I returned to Meadows in 2002 and have assisted the school to gain improving Ofsted inspections. I will be acting as a consultant to an Independent Special School providing mentoring work to a newly-appointed Head Teacher. I am also a Trustee at a Sports' Charity.

Katie Bain - Deputy Principal (Education)

I graduated from the UWE, Bristol with a BA Honours in Literature.  I then completed a PGCE in Secondary English at Homerton College,  University of Cambridge. I completed my NQT year in an inner London mixed comprehensive in Wandsworth, progressing to post of Deputy Head of department. After 6 years, I moved into special education  to take a post at Meadows School as the Head of English. After 5 years in post, I enrolled at UCL to complete a NPQSL and I have now become the Head of Education and Deputy Principal.

Vaughan Jackson - Deputy Principal (Care)

I left Northfleet School for Boys in 1977 to join the Royal Navy where I trained as a Marine Engineering Mechanic. During my six years service I experienced many different countries and cultures including the Falklands Islands, thankfully just after the conflict. On leaving the Navy I joined a general building company and went on to become a plumber. I pursued this trade for three years before securing a post within the Social Work Team at Frant Court, a London Borough of Greenwich owned Children’s Home with Education, based in Frant, East Sussex. This proved to be an excellent experience and introduction to Residential Social Work and over the four years spent there I moved to the position of shift leader.

In 1991 I joined Meadows School as a Deputy Team Leader, I completed the Diploma in Social Work in 1999 and secured the Team Leader position at Bradbury House. After four enjoyable years at Bradbury I was successful in my application for the Head of Care.

Rachel Hyden - School Bursar

I was educated locally in Tunbridge Wells, leaving Bennett Memorial in 1992 when I then went to Reading University. I graduated in 1995 with a degree in English Language and Literature and then began a career as a retail manager, working for companies including Marks and Spencer, Habitat and Asda. I then changed career and was appointed as Office Manager and PA to the Principal at Meadows School in 2006, a position I held for 8 years. Between 2010 and 2013 I also undertook the Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) and the Diploma of School Business Management (DSBM) with the (as was) National College of Teaching and Leadership. I was successfully appointed to the role of Bursar in May 2014, taking up my post from September 2014.
