Additional learning needs policy
All the pupils at Meadows School have special educational needs and some have additional learning needs. We will address the additional needs as well as helping pupils to change their behaviour. We will also offer strategies to support and manage emotional development.
All lessons are tailored to the specific learning needs of individual pupils . Personal Education Plans and Care Plans are drawn up with reference to the pupil’s Statement of Special Educational Needs.
We develop achievable and measurable targets for our pupils and we provide short term goals for all pupils. Regular assessment and six monthly reviews are used to evaluate progress and set new targets for subsequent development. Transitional reviews are part of the process of annual review where the pupils’ aspirations and future ambition become a core aspect of their learning and experience.
