Day Pupil Project Worker

Day Team Project Worker, Meadows School, Kent

Full Time: 37 hours per week

Permanent

Salary: £19482 - £25236 p.a.

Meadows School is a successful non-maintained residential and day special school (7-16) and off-site unit 16+ unit (16-19) run by Barnardo's, providing education for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties; Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties and associated learning difficulties.

It is imperative that you have the passion for making a difference to the education and lives of the young people within the school and in building positive and supportive relationships. You should be a team player, resilient and motivated by challenge and have the ability to think creatively. You will need to be willing to work to Barnardo's Basis and Values.

DAY PUPIL PROJECT WORKER

Salary Scale  £19,482 - £25,236 per annum

Hours: Mon-Friday 37 hours per week - term time (plus additional hours to facilitate full school holidays)

Ideally to start September 2017 - start date negotiable

We require a Day Pupil Project Worker who can;

- Work effectively in challenging situations and demonstrate positive personal authority.

- Able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with a wide range of audiences, including through reports.

- Undertake behaviour management training and be physically and emotionally resilient enough in order to manage challenging behaviour through this approach.

- To work as part of a team to support the young people in a variety of ways to develop their abilities to achieve a positive future.

And who has;

- Experience of working with young people who exhibit challenging behavior.

- A flexible approach combined with patience, tolerance and stamina and humour.

- Ability to provide young people with consistency, enhancing their well-being and feelings of safety.

- A willingness to undertake further training.

Part-time Kitchen Assistant

Salary: £8.45 per hour

KITCHEN ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

Salary Scale - £16258 pro-rata

Hours: Mon-Friday (10:30 - 14:30) 20 hours per week - term time

Start date negotiable

We require a Kitchen Assistant who can;

- Support the Catering Manager and Cook in providing daily lunches for students and staff

- Provide high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

- Be flexible in undertaking tasks given

- Undertake training as required (e.g. food hygiene/allergens)

- Prepare the dining room and kitchen area for service and dismantle after food has been served and eaten

And who has;

- A good working knowledge of preparing and cooking food

- Experience of working in a kitchen environment

- An ability to relate to young people

- An ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues
