Learning Support Assistants - Meadows School, Kent

Full Time: 32.5 hours per week

Permanent

Salary:£14,101.42 to £15,233.91 plus £1,051 LSA allowance per annum. All salary pro-rata for 39 weeks of the year: £16,459 to £17,781 per annum plus £1203 p.a. LSA allowance. (full time equivalent)

Meadows School is a successful non-maintained residential and day special school (7-16) and off-site unit 16+ unit (16-19) run by Barnardo's, providing education for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties; Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties and associated learning difficulties. It is imperative that you have the passion for making a difference to the education and lives of the young people within the school and in building positive and supportive relationships. You should be a team player, resilient and motivated by challenge and have the ability to think creatively. You will need to be willing to work to Barnardo¿s Basis and Values.

We require Learning Support Assistants who can;

-Support teaching and learning across the school

-Support the curriculum across the school

-Relate well to children and adults

And who have;

-A minimum of 1 year's experience in a classroom setting

-Experience of working/or willingness to work with young people with challenging behaviours

-A flexible approach combined with patience, tolerance and stamina and humour

-A willingness to undertake further training

You may be required to work anywhere within Meadows School.

COOK (p/t) (TERM-TIME ONLY)

Salary Scale - £16258 pro-rata

Hours: Mon-Friday (07:30 - 14:30) 35 hours per week - term time

Start date negotiable

We require a Cook who can;

- Support the Catering Manager in providing daily lunches for students and staff

- Prepare, cook and serve food and drink to students, staff and visitors, and clear away afterwards

- Undertake training as required (e.g. food hygiene/allergens)

- Ensure high standards of cleanliness of the school kitchen, larder, food store, serving area and dining hall

And who has;

- Good working knowledge of preparing and cooking food to a high standard

- Level Food Hygiene Certificate

- At least a year's experience of working in a commercial or school kitchen environment

- An ability to relate to young people

- An ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues
