Meadows School: 16+ unit

Meadows Key Stage 5 is based a short distance from the Main School site and offers placements on a 38 week Monday-Friday basis. All students who gain a place have their own bespoke 'Study Programmes', which are realistic, stretching and challenging and most importantly are based on the aspirations of the student. The expectation for all students is that they have a positive work ethic, are compliant, respectful to their peers and to members of staff (irrespective of their backgrounds, identity and beliefs), have excellent attendance on and off-site and the desire to maximise their potential. The Curriculum Offer allows for a clear pathway for progression, for the development of soft skills required for future employability and for the development of Independence and Life Skills, in order to fully prepare all learners for life beyond School.

We provide Education and Care for:

•Up to 25 students who have an 'Education, Health and Care Plan' or a Statement of Special Educational Needs.

•Residential and Day students

•Young people who have:

Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.

Speech, Language and Communication needs.

Who are on the Autistic Spectrum or who have other associated needs such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia and Anxiety.

Students and Local Authorities who are interested in Meadows School Key Stage 5, should initially contact the Principal, Mike Price. A subsequent tour of Key Stage 5 and Curriculum information can be provided. An interview and home visit are a pre-requisite, prior to the offer of a placement. For an informal discussion, please contact Key Stage 5 on (01892) 543663.

Earlier in 2017, Meadows School was visited and assessed for the BTEC programmes of study, which can be undertaken by students at Meadows School (Years 10 and 11) and at Key Stage 5 (Years 12-14). For full details please see the report;
