FAQs
Q. How do I make a referral?
A. Please ring or email the project and we will send you information or talk with you about what you need to do.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Young people are not charged. When a local authority has responsibility for a young person they will be charged between £200 and £350 a week for support costs depending on the particular needs of the young person.
Q. Do you have a waiting list?
A. For most services there is a waiting list but the wait can be as little as three months or as much as a year. If you think the project is suitable for you please get in touch and we can try to work things out.
Q. How long can I stay?
A. Most people stay between 18 months and three years but it is up to you. When you feel you are ready to move on we will help you find suitable permanent housing.
Q. Will you be checking on everything I do?
A. No, supported housing means you live in a flat. You don’t have to share anything with other young people. Project staff will only come into your flat when they are invited or when the have your permission to do repairs or very rarely when they are very, very worried about your safety. You have control of your home. We do ask that you meet with us regularly or there would be no point in you having support!
Q. What happens at night?
A. We have a 24 hour on-call service that you can ring at anytime.
