Barnardo's Levenmouth Links Project
Project's aim:
To provide services which respond to young people (aged 10-16) at an early stage, enabling them to make informed choices and have an active role within their home, school and community. The services we offer address a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural issues, focusing on the many transitions young people make from primary school (P7) through adolescence and on to their life after school.
Barnardo's Levenmouth Links Project works in partnership with Fife Council’s Social Work and Education Services to deliver supports to young people and their families within the Levenmouth area of Fife.
Our objectives are that:
- young people, their families and other local agencies will work in partnership with Levenmouth Links to identify and develop appropriate services
- young people will have a successful and positive educational experience, including a smooth transition into secondary school
- young people will be given opportunities to enhance their self esteem and confidence, enabling them to realise their own potential
- Levenmouth Links will work in partnership with young people and their families to help them recognise and implement their own strengths, enabling them to identify coping strategies.
We consider referrals from any source, as long as they meet our referral criteria below.
Referral criteria:
- young people in P7 to S4.
- young person must live in or have a live connection within the catchment areas for Kirkland High School & Community College and Buckhaven High School
- young person and their parent or carer must be aware of and in agreement with the referral
- referrals should follow early intervention criteria, although the final decision will be based on the young person’s needs.
