What we do
Barnardo's Manchester Leaving Care project works to enable young people to achieve their individual potential, by improving self-identity, self-esteem and personal skills.
The project believes it is important that young people fulfil their potential and contribute towards society in personal and family relationships, as parents and by contributing economically. We also work to reduce the likelihood of young people becoming trapped in positions of disadvantage, powerlessness and dependency, and ensure young people have a voice in those systems and structures which impact upon their lives.
The service also provides a co-ordinating role with other agencies, raising the profile and needs of care leavers locally and nationally.
