Who we are

Barnardo's Manchester Leaving Care Service was established in 1995 via a partnership between the City Council and Barnardo's. From this time we have taken the lead role in operating the City of Manchester’s Leaving Care Service in partnership with, and on behalf of, Manchester Children, Families & Social Care Department.

The service now employs 36 staff, dealing with over 600 young people with a budget of circa £1 million.

In all its years of operation the Service has helped somewhere between 2000 and 2200 young people.
