Include me 2
Include Me 2 was previously known as South Ribble Families Service and merged with Chorley Families Service in 2006. The service is jointly funded by Lancashire County Council and Barnardo’s and delivers a supported play and leisure service to severely physically and/or learning disabled children.
The service caters for children and young people aged between 4 and 18 years. They may present with life threatening or significant illnesses, significant sensory impairments and an autistic spectrum disorder with associated severe challenging behaviours.
Since 2005 the service has been delivering a supported play and leisure service to 33 additional service users, commissioned by Lancashire’s Prevention Fund. Additional funds were allocated by Chorley Prevention Fund in 2009 to deliver social skills group work and group work to the siblings of the disabled children known to the service.
In August 2009 the service was commissioned to deliver ‘Saturday Fun’ and ‘Stay and Play’ services as part of Lancashire’s Aiming High for Disabled Children budget for Preston, South Ribble, Chorley and West Lancashire. Children and young people aged 5 to 18 years are included but must meet the criteria specified.
