Academic achievements

A very important aspect of High Close School is acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of our pupils, particularly as many of them have had a fragmented educational experience prior to joining us. These are always highlighted at our Friday morning Celebration school assembly.

We’re very proud that over the past few years:

  • our year 11 pupils each attained an average of three GCSE passes
  • all our year 11 pupils gained an Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) award
  • 11 of our pupils achieved Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Exam results 2007-08

Our exam results for the year 2007-08 were our best ever with one pupil gaining an A* in their Science GCSE and another achieving the equivalent of five subjects at grades A to C. The results from last year’s GCSEs are shown in the table below:
