Welcome to the Student Programme at Barnardo’s. If you are a University or College student and want to find out more about getting involved with Barnardo's, you’ve come to the right place!
Entrepreneurial challenges
If you thought getting invloved with Barnardo's was just about volunteering or giving us your money you were very wrong! We have loads of exciting competitions designed specifically for you students to show us what you're made of.
- If you fancy yourself as a bit of an Alan Sugar, why not prove your entrepreneurial skills and get stuck in with Onegreenpaperclip? This concept is based on Kyle McDonald's bright idea of swapping the paperclip holding his CV together for a house! So, if you've got what it takes to turn one tiny green paper clip into something fantastic, get involved and help raise vital funds for some of the UK's most vulnerable and disadvantaged children. This competition will commence on 21 November as part of Social Enterprise week 2008 and, will be run throughout the academic year.
Fundraising and rag
Fundraising doesn't have to be boring or tiring!
- Ever fancied becoming famous? Break a world record for Barnardo's and you could be just that!
- Or how about organising your own event? We've got loads of ideas to get you started and will support you through the whole thing. Have a look at a few of our event suggestions here.
- Are you part of a University sports team? If so, you could Be a Sport for Barnardo's and impose a personalised 'fine system' on the rest of your team and raise lots of dosh for us.
- Alternativley you could take part in one of our rag raids, mega raids or tours we have going on across the UK.
Volunteer
If you want a successful career, you can't afford not to volunteer. Luckily for
you volunteering with Barnardo's couldn't be more fun, easy or rewarding. Why not volunteer in one of
our shops, offices, or directly with children. Find out why you should get involved.
Student Brand Managers
If you want a career in branding or marketing then this is the volunteer role for
you. On top of the experience you will be gaining, you also will have the opportunity to work towards
the Chartered Institute of Marketing Award. Find out more and apply

Student Event Fundraisers
If you want experience in events and to help vulnerable children across the UK,
then become a Student Event Fundraiser. Not only will you be putting on live events at your University
or College, you will also be elligible for the Chartered Institute of Marketing Award.
