Here are some great fundraising ideas to get you started – what do you think your friends or class would like to do to help other children?

Fresh Start

Barnardo’s Fresh Start is an exciting hands-on activity for children of primary school age. It’s all about being creative with your breakfast and using your gourmet skills to fundraise for Barnardo’s. It’s easy to do and lots of fun to take part, so why not get your class involved?

Get your whole class involved

Barnardo’s has a brilliant range of activities that your whole class can do  – see which one you like the look of and tell your teacher all about it.

Eggciting Challenge: You have to boil an egg and look after it for a week, getting sponsored on your way. Bet your parents wish they could do the same with you!

Grow a beanstalk: Teach Jack a thing or two by planting a bean and watching it grow into a big plant.

Big Bounce: Get bouncing for Barnardo’s and keep fit at the same time. See how many hop, skips or jumps you can do in a minute.

Big Bauble: Design a beautiful bauble for your tree or wall, and make a wish that will help make a child’s life better.

Care and Share: Make badges to show how you’re good friends with everyone at school – its lots of fun.

Ssh! Sponsored silence

Boy smiling

They say silence is golden, so why not use it to raise money? See how long you can keep quiet for – try 15 minutes, or be daring and see if you can keep it going for even longer!

Disco

Everyone loves to dance to music – charge a small fee to get in.

Singing competition

Think you have the X Factor and could make Simon Cowell jump with joy? Then have a singing competition. Again, ask people for money to take part.

Non-uniform day

Everyone loves a day where you don’t need to wear a tie or that stripy blouse. You can even theme it – imagine a playground full of pirates! Just ask your mum first before taking her eyeliner to complete that Jack Sparrow look

Goodies shop

Rice Krispie cakes

Take over the playground and sell your old toys and books. Think you’re a top chef? Make cakes. You could even sell bracelets or make your own funky t-shirts.

Pop quiz

Are you a bit of a boffin? Think you know everything about Eastenders? Set up a tricky quiz to confuse your classmates and raise money for a great cause

Games day

Bring in all your board games and play them in class – people must pay to play. Perhaps you can make it part of your Summer or Christmas Fair?

Get your teacher involved (but don’t forget to ask them first!)

Soak Sir with a water pistol or make Miss sing every song by Madonna… do something that will raise money and make you and your friends laugh too!

We have materials to help you with your fundraising, including posters and sponsorship forms! For more details, or to find out how to pay in, email community.fundraising@barnardos.org.uk
