Make a difference
Your company can make a difference by supporting the direct work that we do with children. We recognise that companies and their employees want to see where their support goes, and so we make every effort to provide 'line of sight' for any money raised.
Support a local service
Wherever there are vulnerable children, Barnardo’s will be there. No matter where your company’s branches or sites are located, it is very likely that a Barnardo’s service will be nearby.
Some of our corporate supporters choose to support a specific service near them - providing funds, volunteering time and gifts in kind which will directly benefit the children of their local community.
McCarthy and Stone took on two young people from Barnardo’s Works in Renfrewshire in addition to doing staff fundraising. The money raised by McCarthy and Stone staff in Scotland will be earmarked for Scottish services.
Commit to a specific area of our work
We support vulnerable children in whatever way they need us. Every day of the year, our service staff address many different problems, covering all ages and backgrounds.
Many of our corporate partners choose to support a specific area of our work which fits well with their identified strategic objectives and corporate social responsibility policy.
For example, construction company Kier Group has provided apprenticeships for young people involved in our vocational training programmes, and have supplied tools to The Hub, our training workshop in east London.
Fund something new
We continually find new ways to support children and young people in the UK, from opening new services which address emerging issues to campaigning and lobbying opportunities.
Our corporate partners therefore have the chance to financially support specific new activities or direct services with children which require voluntary funding, in the key areas of need that we have identified.
For example, the Royal Mail Group have funded the Barnardo’s fringe events at political party conferences – allowing us to lobby politicians for a commitment to tackling child sexual exploitation.
