Towers Watson ‘goes green’ for partnership launch

Professional services company Towers Watson turned its offices green for a day, to launch an exciting new partnership with Barnardo’s.

Our cuddly mascots Barney and Betty Bear toured Towers Watson’s UK offices for a ‘Go Green Day’ in January. They provided encouragement and inspiration to staff, who wore the colour green, held raffles and sold themed cakes, muffins and other homemade treats.

Go Green Day

Towers Watson raised more than £5,500 on the day. This figure includes generous match-funding by Towers Watson to double the staff’s inspiring fundraising efforts. We are so grateful to everyone who took part.

This new three-year partnership with Towers Watson will enable Barnardo’s to reach even more of the UK’s most vulnerable children, who are facing desperate challenges ranging from abuse and neglect, to caring for a sick or disabled loved one.

Barnardo’s is delighted to be working closely with this leading global business to create an exciting, bespoke partnership. Plans agreed will not only raise money for the children who need our help, but also inspire, and develop the skills of, talented Towers Watson staff, making it a “win win” for all.

Barnardo’s Corporate Relationship Executive Dave Gross said:

“The Go Green Day with Towers Watson was a huge success and a great way to launch our new three-year partnership.

It was a simple way for everyone to get involved, and we saw all 11 Towers Watson UK offices get behind the partnership, engaging staff in Barnardo’s vital work with vulnerable children and young people across the UK.”

Other tailored plans for the Towers Watson partnership with Barnardo’s include Store Wars events, where staff will form teams and take over some of our stores for a day, to see which branch can raise the most money through the use of entrepreneurial skills. There will be more activity in May as part of Business in the Community’s “Give & Gain Day”, with the donation of staff time as they head to our services to help with activities such as skills workshops and project redecoration.
