Barnardo’s announces exciting John Lewis partnership to celebrate their 150th anniversary

John Lewis

Barnardo's is delighted to announce a partnership with John Lewis, which launched this month.

It is the first time the much-loved retailer has partnered with a national charity and the move coincides with their prestigious 150th anniversary celebrations.

The partnership will launch with one-off ‘Story Telling’ events; a host of book-inspired events for children throughout the summer in John Lewis stores across the country, supported by celebrity guests. The events will raise money for our vital work in supporting children who need it most.

Story Telling will be backed by all 46 UK John Lewis stores, call centres and distribution centres. It will include a nationwide story writing competition, as well as Story Telling sessions in-store and at participating schools.

John Lewis has some fantastic merchandise to promote, with proceeds being donated to Barnardo’s work within early year’s intervention education. There are also some other exciting surprises planned.

John Lewis donate £125,000 to Barnardo's

It is not the first time John Lewis has generously supported Barnardo’s. Last year, they donated £125,000 to our children’s services in Birmingham. The money was raised through a golf day in Berkshire, with the kind donations made by suppliers who took part in the event.

Helena Burley, Corporate Relationship Manager at Barnardo’s, said:

We are thrilled and delighted that John Lewis has chosen to support the valuable work of Barnardo’s. Working with the partners of John Lewis is a pleasure and the positive attitude and enthusiasm of the fundraisers within John Lewis stores is very heartening. I am looking forward to being the Barnardo’s and John Lewis National Relationship Manager and all the exciting fundraising events ahead of us which are helping to support the most vulnerable children within our society.
