A digital partnership fit for the 'fuchsia'

A conversation in a coffee shop was the start of a successful corporate relationship between a blossoming flower company and the UK’s largest children’s charity.

It was just two years ago when the Business Development Manager of Prestige Gifting Ltd Philip Crowther, Managing Directors Simon Crowther and James Miskell met members of the Barnardo’s Corporate Team at a small east London coffee shop to discuss a potential new partnership.

Now, Prestige Flowers, established in 2010, is one of Barnardo’s treasured corporate sponsors and has an award winning, international presence in the competitive flower gifting market.

The main fundraising tool for the partnership is ‘Barnardo’s Flowers’, a website set up and managed by Prestige, which provides the ultimate gift that keeps giving. 25 per cent of the value of each order made on the site is given directly to Barnardo’s, enabling us to transform the lives of more of the country’s most vulnerable children. In addition to this, Prestige Flowers have been busy providing flowers to decorate Barnardo’s fundraising events and providing auction prizes to raise money alongside this inspirational digital effort.

Just under £14,000 has been raised through the Barnardo’s Flowers site alone so far, and it is hoped these results will continue to grow. The most popular time of the year for customers on the Barnardo’s Flowers site is Christmas, when the company is inundated with requests for festive floral greetings with a personal touch.

Prestige Flowers Business Development Manager Philip Crowther, said: “We approached Barnardo’s about a partnership at first. We get a lot of requests from charities for things like raffle prizes, and we are really happy to help with things like that, but we were keen to have a partnership.

“I have known about Barnardo’s since I was a young boy, and the work that Barnardo’s does we had to support it. We spoke to our staff and they were really enthusiastic about it too. This is a partnership that we value hugely, and we thoroughly enjoy working on it at the same time.”

Prestige Flowers has come along leaps and bounds. It has expanded staff numbers from two people four years ago, to 300 plus during the busiest times of the year. Prestige Flowers is working with some of the country’s biggest names in the industry and even bought its own premises in Holland. We are delighted to be working with this growing, innovative company.

Ian Kendall, Corporate Relationship Executive, from Barnardo’s said: “This was the first time we had done anything like this at Barnardo's and launching a ground breaking partnership wasn’t easy, but Barnardo’s and Prestige worked incredibly hard to make sure we launched on time. I think moving in to the digital arena is a must and we’re all really excited about the potential of our partnership. I personally love working with Prestige and I’m looking forward to seeing the partnership blossom.”
